INSTALLING YOUR CORK ROADBEDThe cork roadbed can be nailed or glued down. Wood glue works well, and the cork can be taped down until the glue dries, 1-2 hours. After locating the track centerline, locate your turnouts first and install the cork switch pads. Fill in between turnouts with strip cork. For

The
double track strips can be split lengthwise, and are partially split on
the back. Single track roadbed is easily conformed to curves using glue and pins
or tape as
described above.

| Here is a good comparison showing different ways to add roadbed and ballast to your Z scale track. | Brown ballast matches the cork well. If using a grey mix ballast (as above), use a flat latex paint closely matching the ballast and paint the cork first. Avoid placing ballast under the moving points of the turnout. |
